As we wrap up the end of the year (with record highs in my neck of the woods, seriously, Floridians work the hardest trying to get into the Christmas spirit, shopping and wrapping in shorts and flipflops) it is also a time for reflection, looking back on the year of 2013 and seeing how we did.

For me, I did not meet some goals I had set.  But I had other goals that I not only met, I exceeded.  I earned my Competent Communicator Award in Toastmasters.  I became more fit by going to the gym regularly (Body Pump, highly recommend it).  I successfully cross-trained employees at work to get ready for a huge software transition.

I’ve also had a couple of opportunities come my way via Toastmasters that are very exciting and I look forward to learning a lot.

I encourage all of you to take a few moments and reflect on how you did this year.  You may not have done everything you wanted, accomplished everything you dreamed, but I will bet you surprised yourself in other areas.  Take comfort in that and build on that for 2014!

Have a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic New Year!
